Tucked away in Christchurch town centre and in the heart of a conservation area, is a beautifully converted and historic home set in a generous, walled courtyard garden.
In the courtyard were a set of dilapidated prefabricated garages in need of more than a little TLC.

Our client hoped to demolish the garages and use the footprint to create a stylish and family friendly annexe, that could double as a sociable garden room as well as additional space for visiting guests.
A clean and modern design was suggested to sit within the walled courtyard, creating a pleasing juxtaposition of the contemporary against the historical.
As the property sits in a conservation area, a detailed planning application including a bespoke heritage statement was required. Planning consent was comfortably achieved, and the resulting low level, annexe building is a stunning, value-add addition to their home.

Our plans for this client also included alterations to the internal configuration to the main building, and external landscaping, so watch this space for future progress.
