Studio Arkell is a RIBA-chartered practice headed by RIBA Chartered & ARB-registered architect Hannah Arkell.
Based between the South Coast of Dorset and the New Forest in Hampshire, we’re dedicated to delivering the same level of design rigour typically associated with big city practice. Collectively, our experienced team of architectural assistants, technicians, and specialist associates have a balanced depth of knowledge & up-to-date skill sets, allowing us to offer you a broad range of bespoke design solutions varying in type, complexity and scale.

Over time, the Studio founder, Hannah Arkell, has developed a particular interest in the impact of technology in architecture through the processes of design, communication, and construction methodology. She furthered her knowledge through her ground breaking research at Royal Danish Academy, focusing on the ways natural materials can be used to create beautiful yet sustainable architecture of all kinds.
Her architecture career has taken her through Manchester, London, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Porto, and finally, in January 2020, back to her hometown of Christchurch. It was then and there that Studio Arkell was born.
Studio Arkell has achieved a number of significant milestones since then. In 2021, we gained fully accredited RIBA membership, welcomed new team members, and celebrated our first birthday with a virtual lockdown party.
Further growth in 2022 saw us opening the doors to our beautiful new offices in the bustling heart of Christchurch town centre. Naturally, this was cause for celebration! We marked the big day with an office launch party and were overwhelmed by the tremendous support we received from clients, colleagues, business associates, friends, and family, all making the occasion even more special.
2023 has brought further expansion to our team of designers and technical specialists, ensuring that the new office space always feels a buzz with activity and creativity.
Looking forward, we are excited to complete our current portfolio of projects, start on some new ones, further build our team and embark on the many exciting endeavours still to come.
